Help Democratic candidates get on the ballot by circulating and signing nomination petitions. It’s one of the most direct ways you can support our candidates before a single vote is cast.
Before any candidate can appear on the primary ballot, they must collect a minimum number of valid signatures from registered voters. Without enough signatures, a candidate can’t get on the ballot. Circulating and signing petitions is one of the easiest and most impactful ways to support Democratic candidates before a single vote is cast.
Join us on the first day of petition circulation to sign petitions for Democratic candidates:
Candidates: You are welcome to send a circulator to these events. Please note that it is the candidate’s responsibility to provide both a petition and a circulator. The circulator must be present to witness signatures.
More signing events will be announced. Check back here or follow us on social media for updates.

An opportunity to take on Republican Jarrett Coleman. Democrats running in the primary:

A race to unseat Republican Shelby Labs. Tim Hayes is the only Democrat running.

Committee candidates need signatures only from registered Democrats in their specific precinct. Each precinct has two committee seats.
Signatures required: 10 (we recommend 15-20 to be safe)
We’ve had the pleasure of hosting many of these candidates at our Pennridge Democrats meetings. Hopefully you found one that inspires you.
Reach out directly to the candidate whose petition you want to circulate. They will provide you with official petition forms and any specific instructions. They’ll be grateful for your help.
Go door-to-door, attend events, or ask friends and neighbors. Each signer must be a registered Democrat who lives in the candidate’s district. Signers must use their legal name (no nicknames) and provide their address and signature.
As the circulator, you must sign a statement on each petition page affirming that you witnessed each signature. This is required for the signatures to be valid.
Return your completed petition pages to the candidate or their campaign before the March 10 deadline so they can file on time.
Any registered voter can circulate petitions for candidates of their own party. You do not need to live in the candidate’s district to circulate their petition, but you must be a registered Democrat to circulate for Democratic candidates.
To sign a nomination petition, you must be:
You can sign petitions for as many candidates as there are seats for each office. For most offices, that means one petition per office. For Democratic Committee, you can sign petitions for two candidates (since each precinct has two seats).
Important: Signing a petition is not a vote. You can sign a petition for one candidate and still vote for a different candidate in the primary. Signing simply helps a candidate get on the ballot.
The Bucks County Democratic Committee (BCDC) may issue endorsements for certain races. However, an endorsement does not prevent anyone from circulating petitions for the candidate of their choice.
Whether you’re a committeeperson or a regular voter, you are free to support and circulate petitions for any Democratic candidate you believe in.
